Michael Wilson B.Sc. LL.B.
Michael Wilson is an experienced family lawyer who has assisted hundreds of people with difficult issues in all areas of family law, including divorce, spousal support, child support, custody, access, restraining orders, and property division.
Michael strives to resolve disputes through negotiation and through alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration. He has completed Collaborative Family Law training. When the Court's assistance is required, Michael provides the service of an experienced litigator, having represented clients in various levels of court throughout Ontario, including at the Court of Appeal.
Michael obtained his Bachelors of Law degree from the University of Windsor in 2005, where he volunteered with various Legal Aid clinics and pro bono student projects. Additionally, he earned an Honours Bachelors of Science in Genetics and Certification in Writing from the University of Western Ontario. Michael has served on the Family Law Subcommittee in the Hamilton Law Association, and been a member of various other law associations and collaborative family law practice groups. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Michael regularly attends continuing legal education courses and conferences.
Before founding Wilson Family Law, Michael spent years practicing exclusively family law with a respected boutique firm in the Greater Toronto Area. He later moved his practice to a reputable Hamilton area law firm where he practiced family law and general litigation.
Michael grew up in North Bay, Ontario, enjoying sports and working with children with special needs. He now calls Grimsby, Ontario home. He volunteers coaching minor sports. Michael enjoys fishing, camping, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
